Description

We are looking for a Commissioning Lead to oversee and coordinate commissioning activities on complex industrial and infrastructure projects. This role is central to ensuring a smooth transition from construction to operations by leading multidisciplinary teams, aligning stakeholders, and delivering safe, efficient, and timely system commissioning and handover.

You will be joining a team known for its boots-on-the-ground execution and its strategic integration of engineering, construction, and operational requirements.

Roles and responsabilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead commissioning planning, execution, and close-out for assigned projects
  • Develop and maintain the commissioning schedule and interface with project controls
  • Oversee commissioning team members, discipline leads, and third-party vendors

Execution Oversight

  • Ensure system readiness through walkdowns, mechanical completion verification, and documentation review
  • Supervise functional testing, energization, system startup, and integrated system testing
  • Enforce safety protocols during all commissioning activities

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with engineering, construction, operations, and client teams to align priorities and sequence activities
  • Facilitate commissioning meetings, daily briefings, and reporting to stakeholders
  • Support the development of punch lists and manage the resolution of deficiencies

Documentation & Handover

  • Ensure accurate documentation of test results, redlines, and as-built information
  • Lead the turnover process, including system sign-off and readiness for operations
  • Support the delivery of training and operational readiness documentation where applicable

Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree in Engineering or relevant technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in commissioning, startup, or operations in industrial environments
  • Strong track record leading commissioning teams on large-scale projects

Technical Competencies

  • In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, control, and process systems
  • Proficiency with commissioning software tools and digital platforms (e.g., Bluerithm, Smart Completions)
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, commissioning packages, and handover systems

Other Requirements

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site for extended periods when required
  • Bilingual (French and English) preferred
